The ‘Skull Dials’ is one of the puzzles in Windlenot’s Museum and the way to access the final room of the museum.

Description[]

At six locations throughout the museum, there are circular dials with four skulls at each cardinal point. Each skull will glow the color of one of the four main colors, Red, Yellow, Blue and Green. They will glow when the dial is turned, or the central button is pressed.

The Puzzle[]

This puzzle is simple and elaborate. Each dial, which is at one of six exhibits scattered through the museum, must be set to a specific color. The six exhibits are listed in a brochure for the museum, with an accompanying skull of the color that dial must be set to. Once each dial is set, the door leading to the final room of the museum will unlock. The door to that room is designed to look like a keyhole, with a dial of six skulls in the round part of the keyhole. If the button in the center of that dial is pressed when the dials are set, the skulls will all glow, and the door will open. If not, one will have to find the dial that is not set proper, and set it to the correct setting.

The Exhibits[]

The six exhibits that the skull dials are at are as follows.

Giant Eagle’s Nest[]

Located in the Strange Beasts room, this exhibit is the location of one of the dials. This dial must be set to blue, according to the brochure. It is opposite the door from the Main Lobby, and the dial is to the left of the door to the Mysteries of the Deep Exhibit.

Viking Burial[]

Located in the Funeral Rites room, this exhibit is the location of another skull dial. This dial must be set to blue, according to the brochure.

Myth of the Werewolf[]

Located in the Myths and Legend room, this exhibit is the location of yet another skull dial. This exhibit is near the door that leads to the stairway up to the Planetarium. The dial is next to a statue of a werewolf, and according to the brochure, must be set to red.

Legend of the Dero[]

Located in the Subterranean World room, this exhibit is the location of one of the hardest to get skull dial. This exhibit is in the back left corner of the room, opposite of the exit of the maze. The huge, strange model of the supposed robots stands to the left of the dial. This dial must be set to yellow.

Tomb of the Ixupi[]

Located in the Tombs and Curses room, this exhibit is the location of one of the easier to spot skull dials. On the wall to the left of the door leading back to the Main Lobby, and near a secret passage, this dial must be set to green. Also, this dial could be thought of as the farthest from the exhibit it is set for.

Two-Headed Celtic God[]

Located in one of the many parts of the Gods and Religious Items room, this exhibit is easy to spot, since it is a giant head with two faces facing front and back. The dial for this exhibit must be set to red.
